This popular pop singer calls Vice President Kamala Harris a “brat” – and that’s why it’s a good thing

Vice President Kamala Harris is a brat – at least that’s what Charli XCX says.

The 31-year-old British pop singer, whose music became a summer sensation, created “Brat Summer,” and the term doesn’t necessarily have the connotations you’d normally associate with the word for a naughty child or pet.

According to her TikTok video, a “brat” is “the girl who is a little bit messy and likes to party and maybe says stupid things sometimes, who feels like herself but maybe has a breakdown sometimes. But she kind of parties, is very honest, very direct. A little unpredictable. So, she does stupid things. But it’s a brat. You’re a brat. That’s a brat.”

With its unique chartreuse album color, “Brat” is considered high praise.

That’s why Generation Z in particular was outraged when Charli XCX posted the following just hours after President Joe Biden endorsed Harris for the 2024 election:

Kamala Harris’ team did not want to miss the opportunity to reach out to the youngest generation of voters after supporting the singer.

On X, Kamala HQ — the official campaign account for the vice president’s candidacy — changed its header image to the same light green hue and font as the album, and now reads “Kamala HQ” in lowercase.

The ad has taken the internet by storm, with sellers on Etsy even going so far as to design and sell green T-shirts emblazoned with the word “Kamala.”

Since entering the presidential race, Harris has raised an incredible $100 million, according to CBS News. That figure, the campaign said, is made up of “more than 1.1 million unique donors, including 62% first-time donors,” CBS News reported.
