Chris Russo criticizes Jose Siri for home run against the Yankees

The “Mad Dog” has a bone to pick with Rays outfielder Jose Siri.

Chris Russo made a bonus appearance on ESPN’s “First Take” on Tuesday this week and had a tirade ready for Siri, who hit a home run in the fifth inning against Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon on Monday and took forever to trot around the bases.

“They’re losing the game! Look how long it takes him to run around the bases. I mean, that’s absolutely ridiculous!” Russo barked.

“He’s not Willie Mays! He’s not Henry Aaron! This is unbelievable! He’s taking forever and they’re down 5-0, damn it!”

Russo was referring to Yankees stars Aaron Judge and Juan Soto taking offense to Siri’s hot-dogging.

“Judge didn’t like it, Soto didn’t like it, and of course he hit a couple of home runs over the weekend,” Russo said, referring the ESPN audience to Siri’s quotes about the Yankee Stadium crowd.

“There’s a lot of booing here,” said Siri. “They even boo their own team. I don’t like that.”

Russo compared and contrasted the passions of the respective fan bases.

“Hey, Jose! You’re pulling in 5,000 fans a game in that hole at the Tropicana!” Russo continued.

“(During) playoff games, you have tarps on the upper deck in this stadium when you play against Texas. You of all people should not be making fun of the Yankee fan who shows up in this stadium day after day with 47,000 fans.

“And it’s not cheap to go to the baseball game! Do you have any idea how much it costs to park the car? And he makes fun of the Yankees fan because he booed the Yankee player who didn’t play so well? Who is lounging around and doing nothing? And you take three hours to run around the bases? Oh my God, what a clown!”

In a separate segment of “First Take” on Tuesday, Russo announced that he had reached a multi-year contract extension to continue his daily radio show on SiriusXM.
