Taylor Swift was chosen by Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool replacement

If Ryan Reynolds needs a replacement for the role of Deadpool, he wants Taylor Swift to take over.

Speaking to E! News, Reynolds again dismissed rumors that Swift would star in Deadpool and Wolverine.

“I want to say once and for all that the whole Taylor cameo thing – because she’s our friend – is not in this movie,” he said.

However, he would like to see her as Deadpool one day.

“I always say if anyone ever takes on the role of Deadpool, Taylor would actually be very good,” Reynolds said. “Because that’s a superpower that I don’t know she shows off to everyone all that often: She’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.”

While it’s unlikely that Swift will ever replace Ryan Reynolds in the role of the foul-mouthed Deadpool, it’s a fun thought. Marvel fans will have to wait until July 26 to see if Swift appears in Deadpool and Wolverine.

Taylor Swift in Deadpool and Wolverine?

There are plenty of cameos and surprises planned for Deadpool and Wolverine. Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine, which is a big surprise. He previously played the role from 2000 to 2017 in Fox’s X-Men universe. However, his character died in Logan.

Former Deadpool stars Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapičić will reprise their roles in the film.

In addition, former Marvel stars from Fox will also make their triumphant comeback. Jennifer Garner will play Elektra for the first time since her 2005 solo film. Dafne Keen, Aaron Stanford and Tyler Mane will also reprise their roles as X-23, Pyro and Sabretooth.

Shawn Levy directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Zeb Wells. Levy previously worked with Reynolds and Jackman on films such as Free Guy, The Adam Project and Real Steel.

In the film, Wade Wilson (Reynolds) is living a quiet life years after the events of the last film. The Time Variance Authority (TVA) recruits him for a high-stakes mission and enlists the help of a reluctant Wolverine (Jackman).

Who is Taylor Swift?

Taylor Swift is the biggest star in the world right now. She is currently on the “Eras” tour, her biggest concert tour to date. The tour began on March 17, 2023 with a show in Glendale, Arizona.

Swift then toured North America in 2023 before traveling to Mexico, Argentina and Brazil to close out the year. The “Eras” tour returned in 2024 with shows in Japan, Australia and Singapore in February and March.

After a few months off, Swift resumed the tour in Nanterre, France. She is on this European leg of the tour until August 20. She will conclude this series of shows with five more at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Afterwards, Swift will return to North America for the final 18 shows of the “Eras” tour. Nine shows will be played in the USA, and nine more in Canada. The “Eras” tour ends on December 8, 2024.

Deadpool and Wolverine will be released on July 26th.
