Sun City West Republican Club plans next meeting and speakers

The Sun City West Republican Club meets Saturday, August 3, at the Church on the Green, 19051 RH Johnson Blvd.

A social gathering with coffee and donuts begins at 8:30 a.m. The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. (doors open at 8:00 a.m.). Members who have paid their dues will be admitted without a donation. Non-members will be accepted a $3 donation at the door to help pay for the room rental.

The meeting will recap the July 30 primary election and provide information on ballot initiatives that will be on the November general election ballot, including ranked choice voting and abortion rights. The keynote speaker will be Kathleen Liles, regional director of the Arizona Free Enterprise Club, third vice chair of LD 10, and precinct committee member.

Another speaker will give a 15-minute presentation on the “What, Why and How Much” of the Central AZ Water Project. The speaker will be Lisa Atkins, a current board member, who will update everyone on the functions of the board. This steering committee will be on the November ballot.

All Republicans and Independents from the Sun Cities and surrounding areas are welcome.
