Popular rock band parts with founding member, lead singer

The Butcher Babies say goodbye to founding member and co-lead singer Carla Harvey.

The band announced this on Instagram.

“As you may have guessed, it is confirmed that Carla Harvey and Butcher Babies have officially parted ways,” the post reads. “Carla has been an integral part of our journey, bringing her unique talent, passion and energy to the band. We are grateful for the incredible memories we created together and the impact she has had on our music and our fans. We will miss her greatly and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

The band also thanked their fans.

“We are deeply grateful for your support over the past 15 years,” the post continues. “We feel incredibly lucky to be able to continue making music and playing, and we look forward to this new era of Butcher Babies! See you on tour.”

“Absolutely heartbreaking,” replied a fan. “My day/week/month now officially sucks!! The chemistry between Carly and Heidi was one of a kind. Carla, we will miss you terribly!! I wish you all the best in all your future endeavors. I love you, Butcher Babies, and I love you, Carla.”

Harvey, who are allegedly engaged to Anthrax/Pantera drummer Charlie Benante, also made a statement earlier this year.

“You may have noticed over the last six months that I have been absent from the Butcher Babies posts.” She wrote. “After 15 years of dedication, I wanted to let you know that I will not be rejoining the band for future endeavors. I am super proud of my work with the Butcher Babies… 2 EPs, 5 full-length albums, and countless tours with our metal heroes! To all of our incredible BB friends and fans… you have given me some of the greatest experiences of my life! I have enjoyed every second of writing for you and performing all over the world! I have loved getting to know you. Wow. I still can’t believe this boy from Detroit got so lucky. I’m not done making music and performing yet. See you soon.”
