Camila Cabello announces she is joining The Voice as a coach for the first time

Camila Cabello is on her way to The voice.

PEOPLE can confirm that the 25-year-old former Fifth Harmony member will join Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton and John Legend as a coach on NBC’s hit singing competition series when it returns this fall.

The “Psychofreak” singer appeared in a TikTok video on Sunday in which she confirmed the news. In the social media clip, Cabello sings along with Stefani (52), Shelton (45) and Legend (43) to “Grace Kelly” by Mika.

“#Do this duet if you want to be a coach on #TheVoice in the fall,” the original caption read, with Cabello adding alongside her own post, “See you in the fall #TheVoice.”

Cabello’s announcement for season 22 comes after Stefani shared a similar post on Friday, revealing her own role as coach.

Season 21 of the show concluded in December, with Shelton and Legend serving as coaches alongside Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande. Clarkson won the season with her performance of “Girl Named Tom.”

Cabello already advised Legend on the last season of “The Last Man.” The voice.

“Camila has all the experience she needs to be the perfect advisor for our team. She has competed in a singing competition before and did very well,” Legend said in an interview with Extra.

“She was part of a group and in this battle environment where the artists sing duets with each other, that’s a very important skill,” he added. “And of course she’s an incredibly successful artist and performer in her own right and everything she’s learned over those years will be so important to our team.”

Cabello already has experience with television competitions, having helped form Fifth Harmony on April 2, 2018. The X-Factor USA in 2012. They ultimately finished in third place.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t auditioned for a show like this,” Cabello said in the last season of The voice“It really gives people a chance, and I find that so incredible, so beautiful.”

The voice returns to NBC later this fall for season 22.
