M-Sport would like to drive Sesks again – DirtFish

“But I still think that what he showed this weekend has put his name clearly in the spotlight of other teams as well. And it’s so hard to get to that top level because there are so many people in WRC2 and Rally2 cars that it’s hard to decide who could be good.

“But I think it’s not just the driving we’ve seen from him this weekend, but also the way he’s worked with us, his feedback on the test, his behaviour. The charisma and entertainment he brings to the end-of-stage interviews is just good for the championship and I’m very happy to have been a part of it.”

Sesks’ performances can only have enhanced his chances of continuing to play at the highest level. The charisma that Millener highlighted could also help. Sesks has developed into a marketable product that should be a tantalising prospect for boardrooms in Latvia and the rest of the world.

“I hope it helps,” Sesks admitted. “I knew that everyone loves rallying (in Latvia and the Baltics), but for a few years now, rallying has been a bit slow here, I would say.”

“And when I saw the crowd in Biķernieki on Thursday, it was just incredible. That’s when we realised that everyone still loves rallies, so it’s just incredible.”

When asked what he would have to do to get back into the Rally1 car, Sesks replied: “I don’t know. Maybe wait patiently and just smuggle in a few doors, then we’ll see.”
