Chris Kirkpatrick gives update on *NSYNC reunion (exclusive)

Chris Kirkpatrick keeps hope for a future alive *NSYNC Reunion.

The 52-year-old singer walked at the New York premiere of Deadpool and Wolverine at the David H. Koch Theater in New York on Monday, where he spoke with ET’s Rachel Smith about the status of *NSYNC’s plans for releasing new music and a possible tour at a later date.

“We’ve been talking about this for some time,” Kirkpatrick said. “We’ll test the tires, see if the car still runs, and, you know, we’ll see where it goes.”

Kirkpatrick and his bandmates – including Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass And Joey Fatonereunited last year for a new original song on the soundtrack to Timberlake’s film, Trolls join forcesThis left fans clamoring for a reunion with renewed enthusiasm.

Then, in March, Timberlake was accompanied on stage by his former bandmates during a stop on his Forget the World Tour, and they worked together on the song “Paradise” from his latest album, Everything I thought it was.

“Hopefully we can all agree that our fans and a lot of other people want this going forward,” Kirkpatrick continued. “So we can’t disappoint them. So it’s not a positive thing, but we’ll see.”

Recalling his reunion with the band on stage earlier this year, Kirkpatrick said, “I was smiling the whole time! I thought, ‘I miss this so much!’… These guys are great.”

Kirkpartrick was one of several members of *NSYNC who came to the premiere on Monday and celebrated Deadpool and Wolverine — which actually contains the band’s cult hit“Bye Bye Bye,” on the soundtrack.

“When we got the call, we signed a lot of stuff for the songs and it was like, ‘Oh, sign this, sign that,’ I saw Dead Pool and I immediately thought, ‘I’m going to outvote everyone in the band to have this song on there,'” Kirkpatrick said.

“It didn’t matter what they voted for! I outvoted anyway, I can kick all their asses,” he joked, adding, “But of course we wanted it (in the movie).”

Deadpool and Wolverine will be in theaters on July 26th.
