Nike Training Club launches on Netflix

Netflix and Nike have teamed up to help subscribers achieve their fitness goals in 2023 with the launch of Nike Training Club. The first 46 videos are now available on the streaming platform, and to find the workouts, users simply need to search for “fitness.”

Each Nike Training Club program consists of multiple episodes, and when Netflix releases the full series, there will be a total of 30 hours of motivating workouts. The streamer noted that all programs will be available in multiple languages across all Netflix plans.

More from Deadline

The move comes at the end of a year of tough challenges for Netflix. The company remains the world’s leading streaming provider with 223 million subscribers, but faces a host of U.S. competitors in the streaming space and is also pushing into video games, consumer products and other areas with established heavyweights.

The company’s main job is to keep subscribers engaged to avoid “churn,” the dreaded industry term for subscriber cancellation. In the past, Netflix achieved an enviably low churn rate by spending billions more and more on programs that could entice subscribers to stay. Today, despite layoffs and cuts, the company has said it will keep its content spending at $18 billion a year. That makes partnerships like the one with arguably worthwhile, as they secure a ton of new content without a cost on the scale of Gray Man. Variety is also important, as the company has moved into unscripted, comedy, family animation, and others in recent years.
