Chris Brown sued for assault in North Texas – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

R&B singer Chris Brown, Dallas rapper Yella Beezy, Live Nation and numerous others are being sued by three men who claimed they were violently attacked and hospitalized after a concert in North Texas.

A civil lawsuit was filed in Houston on Monday regarding an incident that occurred Saturday, July 20, seeking $50 million in compensation for financial loss, pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish, and past, present and future medical expenses.

The lawsuit names Brown, Markies “Yella Beezy” Conway, British rapper Sinko Ceej, Omololu “Hood Boss” Akinlolu, Live Nation Worldwide, Inc. and Live Nation Marketing, Inc.

The men listed are accused of being part of Brown’s paid entourage and of attacking Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis Charles Bush and Damarcus Powell by “throwing chairs at them and repeatedly kicking, stomping and hitting them.”

The lawsuit also alleges that Live Nation presented and promoted Brown’s concert. The plaintiffs want to hold the singer, his promoters and presenters, and his paid entourage responsible for the incidents.

According to the lawsuit, Parker, Bush and Powell said they attended the second night of Brown’s “11:11 Tour” stop in Fort Worth at Dickies Arena. After the concert, the alleged victims were invited backstage to Brown’s VIP area along with about 40 women.

As they entered the VIP area, Brown allegedly asked the women to hand over their phones and place them on a table before entering the room with his entourage.

The lawsuit states that Brown returned to the VIP area after about 30 minutes, at which point the alleged victims got tired of waiting and left the area. Bush said he approached the singer just before he left to shake his hand and congratulate him on a good show.

In the legal document, Bush stated that he told Brown, “Good show; it’s been a while, but I’m glad you’re OK. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you.” Brown is said to have replied, “Hey, yes, it is, and I appreciate it.”

The indictment states that shortly before Bush, Parker and Powell could leave, someone from Brown’s entourage shouted at the singer: “Man, don’t you remember you two having a fight?” Brown then allegedly ordered his crew to attack Bush.

Bush immediately attempted to leave the building with the entourage he had brought with him to the show. Brown and about seven to 10 members of his entourage followed them before the plaintiffs were attacked in a hallway, the lawsuit says.

Sinko Ceej allegedly ran to the left into the crowd and punched Bush in the chest. At the same time, Akinlolu allegedly picked up a chair and threw it at Bush’s head. Brown then turned to Parker and urged Conway and others to attack him, the indictment says.

Court documents state that because the victims were heavily outnumbered, Parker ran into a staircase and attempted to escape through a locked door at the bottom of the stairs.

It was alleged that Brown and his crew members punched Parker in the face and chest, kicked him in the head and stomped on him for over ten minutes, causing him serious bodily harm. Powell and Bush were allegedly struck in the shoulder and chest by Brown and his entourage.

According to the lawsuit, Bush, Powell and Parker all suffered serious injuries to their head, neck, shoulders and back and are still receiving medical treatment.

“The brutal, violent attack that Brown participated in and directed has caused serious injuries to all of the plaintiffs,” the plaintiff’s legal team said in the lawsuit. “Chris Brown’s egregious behavior must be stopped.”

The lawsuit documents say the alleged victims, represented by the Buzbee Law Firm, are seeking a jury trial and a temporary restraining order to “preserve evidence.”

Fort Worth police told NBC 5 that Brown was not arrested in the city over the weekend. There is no information on whether any police reports have been filed in connection with the incident.
