Love Island’s Kendall responds to anti-gay hate after explicit videos leak

Over the weekend, Love Island USA star Kendall Washington was thrown to the wolves of the internet when several sexually explicit videos of him leaked and made the rounds online. The leak happened the same night as the season 6 finale on Sunday, July 21, which breathed even more life into the controversy since Kendall was a finalist on the popular reality dating show.

Not only were the videos released without Kendall’s consent, he also did not have access to his phone at the time and was unable to defend himself against the many online rants, many of which were homophobic and anti-gay due to the nature of the leaked videos. The situation was absolutely abhorrent, and regardless of Kendall’s opinions from his time Love Island USANo one should be confronted with this invasion of privacy and trust.

Fortunately, there are plenty Love Island Fans gathered around Kendall until he could answer for himself.

Before Washington could access his own phone, his sister Taylor Washington rushed to his aid.

In her Instagram story, she posted dozens of screenshots of supportive X-posts.

“@LoveIsland I really hope you guys get him some serious mental health help so he doesn’t come out of the high of this experience and think he’s been unfairly exposed on top of the general reality TV reaction,” Taylor wrote in her story. “If you have a history of suicides by people who have been on your show, I really hope you all get this under control quickly.”

Finally, after weeks in Love Island Since he is isolated from the outside world in his mansion and does not have access to his own social media accounts, Kendall responded to the situation in his own Instagram story.

“What a way to get my phone back guys,” he wrote. “I just want to address the content that has come to light from my past.”

“This was something I shared with someone in confidence and in confidence,” he continued. “It’s unfortunate that it’s no longer private, but it is what it is.”

We kind of support this response – we own it and move on! Regardless, we hope the person responsible for the leak faces consequences and hope Kendall gets the support he deserves.
