‘Traitors’ star Charlotte Chilton admits she was stressed and angry after arguments with her baby’s famous father, Conor Maynard

The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton has revealed how betrayed and upset she felt after a series of rows with Conor Maynard.

An argument broke out between the 32-year-old and the 31-year-old singer after she told him after a boozy night that she was pregnant with their child.

Charlotte was introduced to TikToker Conor by The Traitors winner Harry Clark following a champagne wrap party for the second series of Claudia Winkleman’s BBC crime drama.

But when she realized she was pregnant, their relationship became uncomfortable – and Charlotte was terrified that the stress might lead to another miscarriage.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun On Sunday, she explained: “We stayed in touch, confided in each other and planned to meet up. But after I told him I was pregnant, this seemingly decent man changed.”

“He turned against me, I felt pressured to keep his identity as his father a secret.

“He told me, ‘I’m not ready to be a father yet. This is nothing against you, Charlotte, but even if we had been together for three years, I would still be the same. I don’t want to have a child. That’s why I don’t have a dog.’

“It was so stressful that the doctors put me on bed rest twice. I thought I was going to have a miscarriage.”

Charlotte had already suffered seven painful miscarriages and one unsuccessful artificial insemination during her marriage to his estranged wife Laura.

But when Charlotte told him how afraid she was of another miscarriage, an argument broke out between them.

And the situation between them became worse and worse.

She said: “A month later, I went for an ultrasound and sent him a picture saying the baby was healthy. I think I said, ‘It’s just a blob… but the cutest blob I’ve ever seen.’ He finally replied, ‘That’s a lot to process.’

“I felt abandoned and alone. I had a breakdown. I poured myself a big glass of wine and thought, ‘That’s it, I’m finished. I don’t care. I can’t do this. I can’t lose another baby.’

“And I sent him a message and lashed out at him, saying I didn’t want my baby to be hated by his own father.

“Conor called the next day and berated me for being so emotional.”

During their final conversation, Charlotte assured Conor that she wanted nothing from him and that he had nothing to lose.

She said: “He didn’t want me to tell anyone because he wasn’t ready to be a father. That was immature and selfish. He messed with my head and my emotions.”

Finally, he wrote to her that she should only contact him if the news about the baby became public.

She said: “He told me, ‘This is your miracle baby. It’s not mine.’ He ended the text with ‘Hope you’re well Charlotte x’.”
