As PCSS founder Ben Anderson said Consequence Compared to last year’s event, the “most important” part of the event was not the performances, but the panel discussions, dubbed Labs. With a focus on mental health in the music industry, these talks aim to provide a platform for artists to talk about the “healing platform of music – wellbeing plus music equals a better life,” as Anderson put it.

The Labs focus on representation and social justice, recovery and the everyday well-being of musicians and industry professionals and are led by the likes of MMJ’s Jim James, Rateliff, photographer Danny Clinch, Newport Festivals’ Jay Sweet, Otis Redding Foundation Vice President and Executive Director Karla Redding-Andrews.
