New contract from Jordan Love would put Cowboys with Dak Prescott under a lot of pressure

No one’s stock price rose higher at the end of last season than that of Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love. Now Love is trying to capitalize on that rising stock price by from the training camp until a new deal is concluded.

Packers management does not believe this will be a problem and expects a deal to be made quickly.

Which begs the question: What on earth are the Cowboys waiting for when it comes to a new contract for Dak Prescott?

It’s no secret that the Cowboys have a problem with three of their best players looking for new contracts.

COO Stephen Jones recently provided insight into the Prescott contract issue, but the Cowboys don’t see a future where they can keep Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons without the trio getting something less so the team can field a competitive roster.

However, the fact that the Packers are offering Love a new major contract will only add further complexity to this delicate situation.

Dak Prescot

Prescott is currently the 13th highest paid quarterback in the league. However, last season, Prescott ranked 3rd with 4,516 passing yards and 1st with 36 touchdowns.

These numbers scream that Prescott is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and if the Packers are paying Love a top-5 salary, you have to assume Prescott wants a top-2 salary.

It promises to be an interesting week.
