Adrianne Shropshire began her political work as a community organizer in California, focusing on police accountability, economic justice, and youth empowerment in South Los Angeles neighborhoods.

In 2016, Shropshire founded BlackPAC, an organization dedicated to educating and mobilizing African American voters. Through that work, she has developed programs to reach hundreds of thousands of voters and helped push for progressive policies across the country.

In this week’s episode of The Switch Up’s election series, Shropshire discusses the most pressing issues facing Black voters ahead of November, where Black Americans have made gains over the past four years, and what work still needs to be done.

Editor’s note: This episode was recorded before President Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential campaign.
