GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan – As early afternoon descends upon the city, evil boredom attempts to drag young readers into the damp and dreary doldrums – luckily, a library stands in the way!

This Saturday, July 27, the Yankee Clipper Branch of the Grand Rapids Public Library is hosting its Comic Geek Out – an opportunity for fans of all ages to come together and beat the dog days of summer.

Come to the library from 1pm-5pm and immerse yourself in free books, snacks, hands-on activities, and workshops to celebrate your fandom.

Voice actor Jason Liebrecht (Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia) will be there for a meet’n’greet and a question-and-answer session!

Dragon Ball expert and author Derek Padula walks you through the cultural significance of food-based names in the popular anime.

Learn how to create your own comic, explore the history and revolution of women in comics, challenge your friends to some board games, or dive into comic trivia.

The library even brings professional cosplayers so you can meet your favorite superheroes! Bring your best costume—it all ends with a cosplay contest!
