Chris Rock’s Everybody Hates Chris returns as an animated series

Chris Rock’s popular autobiographical family comedy is back with a new title!

Comedy Central has announced the voice cast for Everyone still hates Christhe upcoming reinterpreted animated version of the original Everyone hates Chris.

The original sitcom starring Rock revolves around a nerdy black teenager trying to navigate an all-white school district in the ’80s and an unstable family. The series is inspired by Rock’s childhood in a working-class family. Everyone hates Chris ran for four seasons from 2005 to 2009.

“I’m so excited to share another fun side of my childhood with the world,” Rock said in a statement.

Several main cast members have returned for the reboot, including Rock, Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold. Rock will return to his role as narrator and Crews and Arnold will reprise their roles as Chris’ parents.

In addition to these returning cast members, voice actors will include Tim Johnson Jr., Ozioma Akagha, Terrence Little Gardenhigh, and Gunnar Sizemore.

The Everyone hates Chris Franchise follows years of production experience for Rock. From 1997 to 2000, Rock hosted his own talk show HBO’s The Chris Rock Show. He later headlined his first comedy special, Big Ass Jokeswhich earned him recognition as a comedian.

Rock’s voice acting work also includes previous work on Disney’s animated film franchise Madagascar And Bee film.

Rock has appeared in numerous films, including New Jack City, boomerang, dogma, Dark Betty, And No chance for me alongside Adam Sandler.

Rock’s recent credits include “Rustin” and Season 4 of “Fargo,” as well as his live stand-up special on Netflix, “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.”

Everyone still hates Chris The premiere on Comedy Central is planned for late 2024.
