CELEBRITY EDITION “IN DEVELOPMENT”, SERIES SECURES RE-COMMISSION FROM ITV

CELEBRITY EDITION “IN DEVELOPMENT”, SERIES SECURES RE-COMMISSION FROM ITV

ITV Studios, the producers behind The Voice UK, are reportedly developing a celebrity edition of the talent competition, according to reports from The Sun.

This comes after TV Zone exclusively revealed last week that ITV has recommissioned a fourteenth season to air in 2025. The Sun reports that the special, which has not yet been commissioned by the broadcaster, could be filmed in the same production window.

Last summer, it was announced that ITV had put its children’s spin-off “The Voice Kids” on ice after seven seasons. An ITV spokesperson said at the time: “The Voice Kids is taking a break. We are working with Lifted Entertainment on The Voice UK and developing specials under The Voice brand.”

A source told The Sun: “The Voice is perfect family-friendly TV and remains a big part of ITV’s schedule. A celebrity version has been discussed at the ITV studios and a few names have been put forward to see if they are up for it… At this stage there are no further details on what it would look like and it has not been officially commissioned.”

The Voice UK returns to ITV this autumn with a brand new season. Emma Willis is back at the helm – presenting the show and directing proceedings – as each of the acts takes to the stage hoping to turn over one of the iconic red chairs.

In search of the next singing sensation, superstar coaches Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am are back and ready to take their place in television’s most iconic chairs.

They will be joined by brand new coaches: international multi-platinum singer and Grammy Award winner LeAnn Rimes as well as British boy band greats Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones of McFly, who will be sitting on a double chair for the first time in The Voice UK history!

The artists compete for a life-changing record deal with music giant EMI, £50,000 and a trip to Universal Orlando Resort. The Voice UK returns this autumn on ITV1.
