ZZ Ward releases new single and video “Mother” –

ZZ Ward has released a new single “Mother” and an accompanying video. The electric jazz song addresses the hardships and devotion of motherhood.

Talking about the new single, ZZ Ward said: “This is the cry of a mother,” ZZ continues: “It’s this feeling of being crushed by this new situation. I never expected men to be able to hear that and relate, but I’ve heard more than one feel the same way. I didn’t set out to make a blues song about motherhood, it just kind of happened naturally. I’ve always written to get through things in life. Suddenly I was faced with a new job where you have to work 24/7 without a break, and I wrote about that. But when you’re tested, you discover who you are, and this song came out of a feeling of empowerment.”

Known for their AAA Radio Charts Top Ten song “Put The Gun Down”, this is ZZ Ward’s first release since their last EP Where did all the love go? Additionally, their latest album from 2023 Dirty shinedescribed as “an album that is ready to go anywhere while maintaining a consistent atmosphere throughout” from MXDWN Authors.

The blues roots artist revolutionized the genre with her personal reflections on motherhood. By discussing her personal experiences, ZZ Ward continues to make powerful music with a deeply emotional sound.
