Kate Martin was not present at the NBA All-Star game on Saturday night. She was not selected for the team despite numerous votes from the fans and is currently rehabbing from a (seemingly minor) injury.

Don’t worry, the Las Vegas Aces’ popular rookie is doing well!

Selected No. 18 in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft, Martin defied expectations and earned her spot on the roster with a strong performance in training camp. The 24-year-old guard won over her teammates immediately, quickly becoming one of the league’s most popular players and playing a lot of minutes in a few different games during the first half of the season.

Unfortunately, Martin’s winning streak ended in Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Sky. After an unfortunate misstep in the second quarter, she collapsed to the ground and immediately grabbed her ankle.

Fortunately, the injury does not mean the end of Martin’s season. The next four weeks of rest during the Olympic break will prove extremely valuable for the recovery process.

Matt Martin recently gave an update on his daughter’s injury. What many people initially thought was a torn Achilles tendon is just a severe tendon bruise. He noted that it was “perfect timing” considering the month-long outage.

Kate Martin will be fine!

The injury didn’t stop Martin from having some fun during All-Star weekend. While some of her teammates played in and/or attended the game on Saturday, she flew to Boston to visit her friend.

Former Iowa classmate Claire Gransee made their relationship public on Instagram last month.

They got back together during the break and had fun on Friday night.

The photo of “Money Martin” at the club is a great sign for Las Vegas Aces fans and fans of the league. The WNBA is better when it’s on the court and its comeback is clearly on the right track.

If Kate Martin is well enough to rock out in Boston, she’ll be back on the court in no time!
