7 Michigan State football transfers still looking for a new home

College sports are going through one of the wildest times in college sports history. The transfer portal, while doing a lot of good for many players, also has its downsides that hurt many players as much as those it helps.

One of those downsides is players entering the portal looking for a new home but not being able to find one. These stories are never highlighted, but I think it’s time we shed some light on them in hopes of finding a way to make the transfer portal better for everyone.

As you all know, the Michigan State football team entered a record number of players into the transfer portal after last season. And unfortunately, some of those players are still in the portal.

According to 247Sports, there are seven Michigan State transfers who have not yet found a new home. Below are those seven players.

What’s next for these players? Unfortunately, nobody knows. It’s going to be extremely difficult for them to find a spot now, or at least a spot in an FBS program, since we’re already at the end of July. The way I see it, this is going to end one of two ways for these players.

Either they can’t find a team at all or they have to drop to the FCS or Division 2 level. Neither option is what they were hoping for, but that’s the reality of the transfer portal.

While none of this impacts Michigan State because there’s no chance any of these players will end up back on MSU’s roster, you have to feel bad for them at some point. At the end of the day, they’re just trying to do what they think is best for their lives, and I hope it works out for all of them in the end.
