Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki dies at age 35 after bizarre concert accident

Ayres Sasaki died last week after a bizarre accident during a concert in Pará, Brazil. He was 35 years old.

The Brazilian singer was performing at the Solar Hotel in Salinópolis, a municipality in Pará, on July 13 when he was electrocuted in a collision with a fan. According to the Brazilian news site Istoé GenteThe fans’ clothes were wet as they leaned over to hug Sasaki.

When the two came into contact, an electric shock was probably triggered by a nearby cable. The sun reported, with fatal consequences for the musician. Sasaki died at the scene, local media reported.

The local police station began investigating the circumstances of Sasaki’s death shortly afterwards. The Civil Police of Pará informed Istoé Gente that police officers spoke to witnesses to gather information about the incident.

On July 14, the hotel where Sasaki was performing at the time of the tragic incident released a statement on Instagram expressing “deep regret” for the loss of the musician. Hotel staff cooperated with authorities and communicated with members of Sasaki’s family. The hotel concluded its statement by offering its thoughts and condolences to his friends and family members.

As news of Sasaki’s death spread beyond Salinópolis in the days following his death, fans began commenting on his old social media posts to express their sadness over his death.
