Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki dies at the age of 35 during a live performance; his last Instagram post goes viral

Brazilian singer Ayres Sasaki died during his live performance. The 35-year-old singer was performing at Solar Hotel in Salinopolis when the incident occurred. He reportedly came into contact with a drenched fan who wanted to give him a hug, which triggered a nearby wire, causing a fatal electric shock. He died instantly. He leaves behind his wife, whom he married a little less than a year ago.

The Mirror reported that the singer’s aunt, Rita Matos, was present at the event and was confused by the turn of events. Speaking to a local news outlet, Rita said: “We know that his performance was scheduled for a specific time and was brought forward, but we are contacting people who were with him at the time to understand how everything happened. We will summarize all the information in a statement that we will release to the press.”

It is still unclear why the concert-goer was soaked, but the Salinópolis police are investigating the case.

Deadline reported that the hotel where the incident occurred also issued a statement. “We are fully committed to providing support to his family and taking the necessary actions. We reiterate our commitment to fully cooperate with the appropriate authorities in properly investigating the events,” the hotel said on Instagram. “Our thoughts and condolences are with Ayres Sasaki’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

His wife also reacted to his shocking death. According to Istoé Gente, Mariana wrote on Instagram: “I want to thank you for every loving and comforting message, for every prayer in this difficult time we are going through. I haven’t been able to read all the messages yet, but when I feel better I will respond to each one. Thank you.”

Following his death, several social media users expressed their dismay in the comment section of his pinned posts and the last post on Instagram. His pinned post featured his fellow musicians performing on stage. The last post he shared was from December 2023 and can be seen singing a song. Check out both posts below:
