Prince William rocks Taylor Swift’s London concert, Prince George and Charlotte pose with the singer

Prince William kicked off his birthday celebrations in style by showing off his dance moves to Taylor Swift’s catchy hit ‘Shake It Off’ at the opening night of the Eras Tour in London. The 42-year-old royal was spotted enjoying the sold-out concert at Wembley Stadium on Friday, accompanied by his two eldest children, 10-year-old Prince George and 9-year-old Princess Charlotte.

The Prince of Wales was caught on video dancing energetically to Taylor Swift’s rendition of “Shake It Off” in high spirits during the four-hour performance. Online videos of the royal’s dance moves quickly went viral, showing his enthusiasm for the hit song. To add to the excitement, the royal trio took a selfie with Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, which later appeared on the singer’s Instagram account. Before the concert, in an adorable gesture, the Royal Guard Band entertained the crowd with a rendition of “Shake It Off” outside Buckingham Palace as a warm welcome for the 34-year-old pop star’s arrival in London.

William has had some memorable encounters with the talented musician in the past. One special moment occurred in 2013 when William took the stage alongside Swift and Jon Bon Jovi to deliver an unforgettable rendition of “Livin’ on a Prayer” at a Centrepoint charity event at Kensington Palace.

In a recent episode of Apple Fitness+’s 2021 series Time to Walk, William recalled the star-studded experience, sharing: “I was at a charity gala for Centrepoint, a charity for young homeless people that is very close to my heart and that I have supported for many years. It’s an annual fundraiser and I turned up and Jon Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift were at the event, which also almost blew me away.”

William recalled the moment when he thought his evening couldn’t get any better after Bon Jovi’s performance. “When I sat down to watch Jon Bon Jovi perform, I thought, ‘That’s it. My job is done. I’m going to have dinner and maybe chat to a few people. And, you know, I’ve got a bit of time off now.’ I had no idea what was going to happen next.”

Sitting next to Taylor Swift, with her to his left, William described the unexpected turn of events, saying: “She’s to my left. And after Jon sings his first song, there’s a pause and she turns to me. She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eyes and says, ‘Come on, William. Let’s sing.'”

Prince William and his children’s fun-filled evening at the Eras Tour came just days after they took part in the Trooping the Colour celebrations, a major event commemorating the traditional birthday celebration of King Charles III. The gathering also marked the first official public appearance by Kate, Princess of Wales, since Christmas Day 2023.

Amidst this busy schedule of royal events, it is important to note that the devoted mother of three is bravely navigating a personal health journey. After undergoing abdominal surgery earlier this year, Kate is currently undergoing “preventive” chemotherapy, proving her resilience and determination in the face of these challenges.
