Military Officers Association of America

The Northwest Arkansas Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) recently hosted a chapter dinner at Mermaids Restaurant and conducted a very special recognition ceremony.

Jannie Layne, founder of Bo’s Blessings, was inducted into the MOAA Chapter as an “Honorary Member.” Layne and her organization are known throughout Northwest Arkansas for coordinating charitable events and activities to support veterans and military families, such as Memorial and Veterans Day events in many cities, ceremonies at Fayetteville National Cemetery, outreach activities sponsored by the VA Hospital, sponsoring Bo’s Blessings Youth Ambassadors, and more.

One of Layne’s most notable actions is her coordination with the Washington County Coroner, Fayetteville National Cemetery, and local veterans organizations in arranging funerals with full military honors for unclaimed veterans.

The honorary membership certificate also included her nickname, “The Veteran Angel,” which she received from the military officer group several years ago. The MOAA department had the honor of presenting the award and blessing Jannie and Bo with a warm “Welcome aboard!”
