Emily DiDonato and Kate Love prove that this movement for free people will be ultra-chic on

There’s probably nothing better than finding a versatile outfit – one that’s chic enough for a relaxed afternoon, but also suitable for exercise.

Kate Love and Emily DiDonato know this very well. In fact, they proved it on their recent trip together to upstate New York. The models and best friends headed to DiDonato’s hometown for a few days of outdoor adventure and brought their best activewear with them.

One of our favorite looks from the trip caught our attention for exactly the reason mentioned above—its versatility. Love and DiDonato both went out one afternoon in matching sets that just scream “chic” but are appropriate for a casual summer afternoon. They wore Free People Movement’s Hot Shot Crossover Set ($98), which included a loose-fitting pair of sweatpants and a cropped T-shirt with chic crossover details.

The soft jersey set comes in four different colors: navy, pumice, black and oat milk. In a decision typical of her elegant, neutral style, Love opted for pumice (a type of light brownish gray), while DiDonato wore the dark navy shade for her afternoon outing. But you really can’t go wrong with any of the options.

This summer, we value comfort more than anything else. This set is definitely that, and in addition to its benefits, it’s also versatile. You can dress it up with chic accessories (like Love did with her Louis Vuitton bag) or keep it more casual with sneakers and a baseball cap. But don’t just take our word for it—take Love and DiDonato’s.
