Boxing Fight Night LIVE – Heaney vs. Pauls 2 headlines Magnificent 7

Cameron wins by majority decision!

One judge surprisingly gave the fight a draw. On the other cards, Cameron won the fight 98-92 and 99-92. Cameron is the interim WBC super lightweight world champion.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 10

The fighters gave it their all until the end and traded blows at the final bell. Cameron will win the fight by a wide margin, but Mekhaled comes out of the fight with flying colors and can be a force in the lower weight class.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 9

She’s almost there, Cameron. Still boxing well at range. Mekhaled got through a few times, but not enough to win the round.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 8

Cameron maintains her discipline well while Mekhaled waits for a chance but gets few striking opportunities in the final few rounds.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 7

Mekhaled is so playful. It’s hard to give her a round, but he keeps charging forward and is willing to take punches to land her own.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 6

A familiar pattern: Cameron controlled most of the round, but Mekhaled came back into the game in the final phase.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 5

A quieter round that Cameron wins with her boxing skills.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 4

A fantastic round. Cameron landed a fantastic uppercut and then a straight right that sent her opponent tumbling backwards. But Mekhaled showed her heart in the closing stages, repeatedly landing hooks with both hands in the last thirty seconds.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 3

Cameron plays the role of matador in the first two-thirds of the round and still lands the stronger punches despite Mekhaled’s pressure.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 2

Cameron combined punches to the head and body and dominated most of the round, but Mekhaled held his own as the round progressed, trading blow after blow.

Cameron-Mekhaled: Round 1

Determined to put on a show, Cameron throws with vigor from the first bell and chases Mekhaled around the ring after a left hook rocks her opponent.

Cameron-Mekhaled is next…

At stake is the interim WBC super lightweight title.

Dacres stops Webster in round 7

Dacres lands a right cross, left hook, and right cross combination that staggers Webster and eventually drops him to the mat in the neutral corner. He gets up, but the referee stops the fight.

Dacres-Webster: Round 6

A slower round, but Dacres let his hands go in the last minute and landed a few good overhand right punches and a left hook.

Dacres-Webster: Round 5

Dacres wakes up! Dacres throws a right hand with one minute to go. The referee cautions him for pushing off with his forearm, but Dacres runs straight at Webster, who falls to his knees and only gets up at the count of ten.

Dacres-Webster: Round 4

Dacres shows a little towards the end of the round, but he was probably still nervous.

Dacres-Webster: Round 3

Everyone at ringside is waiting for this fight to escalate. Maybe it won’t. Webster is in the lead.

Check out highlights from the Fight of the Year contender…

Dacres-Webster: Round 2

Webster may have done a little better this round, but his corner is begging him to do more. It’s likely that Dacres is hearing similar things in his corner.

Dacres-Webster: Round 1

A very slow start in which neither fighter achieved anything noteworthy.

Next up is the English heavyweight title fight

And it’s a rematch between Solomon Dacres (8-0, 2 KOs) and Michael Webster. In Dacres’ last fight, he defeated Webster (10-1, 6 KOs) by majority decision.

Taylor wins unchallenged by point decision!

Taylor receives the fight scores 97-93 and 99-91 (twice). He is the new WBC International Light Heavyweight Champion.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 10

Lamela with nice uppercuts at close range, but Taylor responds with a good combination of straight right and right uppercut. After spectacular Taylor combinations, the fight ends with Lamela landing punches in Taylor’s corner. It could be Taylor’s fight by a wide margin, but Lamela was in every round in the second half of the fight.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 9

Both fighters seem to have their eyes on the end of the fight. Each one makes a few movements, not convinced that he can stop the other.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 8

Lamela’s appetite for competition seems to wane at times when he walks away, but at times he seems to play dead as he inevitably comes back with forward momentum. Taylor always comes out with more.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 7

Taylor calmed down behind the jab and once again went south, which I think we can take as a warning sign. Taylor threw his head back in the closing stages with a combination of left hook and right uppercut.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 6

Taylor is slowing down but is still better than his opponent. He may be lucky that Lamela doesn’t have the class expected from a Cuban-born fighter.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 5

Taylor’s calmest round. He attacked pretty hard and may be taking a break. Lamela landed a few punches against the ropes at one point.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 4

Lamel nodded his head after an early right hand from Taylor and briefly turned to the left to try and stop the Brit’s attack, with limited success. Perhaps a sign that his energy tank is empty.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 3

A great combination from Taylor early on, following a straight right, sent Lamela back into the ropes. However, the Cuban took the blows well and shows no signs of being stopped anytime soon.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 2

He is every bit as good, if not better, than the Spanish-based Lamela. He has taken a number of uppercuts and right hooks and is still trying to come forward and land. He seems to be getting used to Taylor’s power. Despite this, Taylor still dominates, but could perhaps be a little less wild with his right hand.

Taylor-Lamela: Round 1

There is a class difference between the two. Taylor strikes with malicious intent and even jabs make Lamela feel the impact. Lamela came forward bravely, but when he did so with 30 seconds left, he was met with a left hook that staggered the Cuban.

Next Taylor-Lamela…

On paper, this is perhaps the most exciting contest – it has a lot to offer compared to Essuman vs. Cooper…

A contender for fight of the year!

Cooper is getting oxygen, but he’s back in his chair now. Both fighters deserve so much credit. Incredibly, Cooper was ahead on all three scorecards, so Essuman needed a knockout and that’s exactly what he got.

Essuman stops Cooper in lap 10!

A left hook immediately sends Cooper reeling, and then an incredible barrage of punches catches him in the corner and falls to the mat. The referee stops the fight.

Cooper stops Essuman: Round 9

Essuman goes down after a powerful right hook! The Ghanaian-born fighter dominated the round, landing decisive punches early and then boxing on his toes before Cooper landed an incredible punch that seemed to knock out his opponent. Essuman got up and survived until the bell.

Cooper-Essuman: Round 8

You have to admire Cooper’s fighting spirit, he is back in the competition, but Essuman’s punches again have a bit more impact.

Cooper-Essuman: Round 7

Cooper fights back bravely, but too often gets his back caught on the ropes and takes punches. Cooper got a little lucky in the last minute, but the round ended with him taking another heavy right at the bell.

Cooper-Essuman: Round 6

Huge round for Essuman! Cooper was close to being stopped. The English fighter was busier at the start, but a fierce right hand turned the fight around and Essuman landed punch after punch while his opponent was on the ropes. After they were separated, Essuman landed an uppercut in the neutral corner, sending Cooper to the floor shaking his head, and he was very lucky to hear the bell as the two clashed again.

Cooper-Essuman: Round 5

A similar pattern to the fourth round: Essuman had the upper hand early on, landing body shots while Cooper was trapped in a neutral corner. In the final two minutes, however, right hands over the crossbar seemed to weaken Essuman a little.

Cooper-Essuman: Round 4

Essuman was better in the first half of the round, but Cooper landed many one-twos towards the end and evened the score.

Cooper-Essuman: Round 3

A better round from Cooper, although Essuman may be taking a little breather.

Cooper-Essuman: Round 2

The opponent lands a cleaner right hand over the top and pushes Cooper into the ropes. He takes a two-point lead.

Cooper-Essuman: Round 1

Essuman is the more offensive of the two and scores the first goal.

Next up, Cooper-Essuman…

There is no long break in the action on this night of the Magnificent 7, as next on the agenda is a fight for the WBO European welterweight title.

Parker stops Arnfield in round 4!

It took a while, but we saw old Zach Parker hurt Arnfield with a heavy right hand in the fourth round, then knock him down with another, forcing the referee to intervene.

Parker-Arnfield: Round 3

Parker is a little less aggressive than we’re used to, which is perhaps not surprising after he got knocked down last time, but he could win the round again.

Parker-Arnfield: Round 2

There isn’t much going on here either, but Parker does a little more work and takes the lead.

Parker-Arnfield: Round 1

Not a lot of action to speak of, Parker pushing the action a little more, but a consistent round.

First: Parker vs Arnfield

A highly anticipated national light heavyweight competition.
