FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor has been charged in Florida with failing to update his address on the state sex offender registry, court records show.

The former New York Giants linebacker turned himself in to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday and was released without bail. He pleaded not guilty to the third-degree felony charge, according to court records. It is the second time he has been charged with the offense. In 2021, he blamed a divorce on his failure to notify authorities of an address change.

Taylor pleaded guilty to sexual assault in New York in 2011. He was sentenced to six years’ probation and required to register as a sex offender.

Taylor spent his entire 13-season career with the New York Giants, helping the team win Super Bowl titles in 1987 and 1991.
