Geek’d Con’s extensive list of voice actors

With Shreveport’s Comic Con, Geek’d Con, almost upon us, I took another look at the lineup and realized how big their lineup is this year, especially when it comes to voice artists. Geek’d Con has always had a lot of guests, but this year’s lineup of voice artists seems to be one of the best.

Steve Downes

Steve Downes started out as a radio DJ in 1978 and began his career as a commercial voice actor in the early 1990s. In 1999, Downes worked on a video game for Valkyrie Studios, where he caught the attention of Martin O’Donnell, a sound designer who would later help Bungie find voice actors for their upcoming video game. Halo: Combat Evolved. O’Donnell brought Downes in for the job, and since then Steve Downes has been the voice of the iconic 7-foot-tall cyborg super-soldier Master Chief. Since the game’s release, Master Chief has become an iconic mascot of Xbox gaming consoles, making Steve Downes the voice of one of the most recognizable video game characters of the last two decades.

Tony Todd

Tony Todd has been a cult actor in many horror films, but he also has some voice acting roles to his credit that might surprise you. Todd was the voice of Venom in the game developed by Insomniac, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the voice of The Fallen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallenand Zoom in The CW’s The Lightning.

Bret Ivan

Since 2009, Bret Iwan has been Disney’s official voice for the iconic Mickey Mouse. Although he is not the original Mickey Mouse, he fills the giant yellow shoes quite well. Some of his appearances as Mickey include the following: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Have Fun!, Minnie’s Bow-Toons, Mickey Mouse Funhouse, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures, Kingdom Hearts III, Epic Mickey, and many more.

Efren Ramirez

The man behind the role of Pedro Sanchez in Napoleon Dynamite isn’t the first person that comes to mind in a list of voice actors, but Ramirez has a handful of voice acting gigs under his belt. Ramirez has had a few roles in animated series like MadTV, American Dad!, El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, Napoleon Dynamite (the animated series) and most recently Disney’s light year.

Josh Martin

Josh Martin, a returning guest at Geek’d Con, is from Haughton, Louisiana! Martin has been the English voice actor for many great anime, but is best known as the voice of Majin Buu in Dragon Ball, both in the series and the video games. Martin has also had roles in My Hero Academia And Attack on Titan. Perhaps even more iconic than his work as a voice actor, he was in Barney & Friends as Barney…yes…the big purple and friendly dinosaur.

John Swasley

John Swasey was the English voice actor for the villain All For One in the legendary My Hero AcademiaPossibly just as evil as All For One Swasey was the voice of Gendo Ikari in the Rebuilding Evangelion a row of Neon Genesis Evangelion Films. His other works include Sir Crocodile in One pieceMr. Death in Soul Eaterand Van Hohenheim In Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Lindsay Seidel

Lindsay Seidel was the voice of Nejire Hado from The Big 3 in My Hero Academia, both in the English dubbing and in the video games. Perhaps even more iconic is the voice of Pochita In Chainsaw ManHer other works include Gabi Braun In Attack on Titan, Ichika Nakano in The Quintessence of the QuintupletsSorano Agria in Fairy taleMaya Fey in Ace Lawyer (the animated series) and many other roles.

Katelyn Barr

Another iconic My Hero Academia Voice, Katelyn was the voice of Ryuoko Tatsuma as well as Himeno in Chainsaw Man, Baby 5in One pieceand Nikki Hanada in Dr. Stone. Katelyn has also worked as a voice actress for video games, such as Borderland and even worked as a writer for the One piece Franchise.

George-Christian

Another icon My Hero Academia The voice actor is Cris George, who has already lent his voice to Gigantomachia, Rikido Sato and Death Arms. Outside of My Hero Academia Cris gave his vote for Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Super, Black Clover, And Fairy tale. Cris has also earned recognition by working behind the scenes on projects such as Shin-Godzilla – The Wonderful World of Madness And Black clover.
