Score updates for Tennessee vs. Texas A&M in Game 1 of the College World Series
OMAHA, Nebraska – Tennessee State Baseball enters the final stages of its national championship quest with a best-of-three College World Series finale against Texas A&M.
The No. 1 Vols (58-12) and No. 3 Aggies (52-13) play their first game Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN). It will be the third time in the last four seasons that two SEC teams have played for the national championship, and the matchup will mark the fifth consecutive year an SEC team will be champion.
Tennessee and Texas A&M played in the SEC Tournament on May 23. The Vols won the only meeting between the two teams this season, 7-4.
Vols coach Tony Vitello was an assistant coach on Texas A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle’s staff at Texas Christian from 2011-13.
