Lamine Yamal receives record transfer value after incredible Euro 2024 tournament

Lamine Yamal’s transfer value has skyrocketed following his stunning breakthrough at Euro 2024 with Spain.

Lamal Yamal’s transfer value has skyrocketed after a sensational 2024 European Championship tournament with Spain.

The Barcelona prodigy entered the tournament at the age of 16 and had a brilliant season that ended with La Roja beating England in the final to secure their fourth European Championship.

Yamal, who turned 17 just before the final, provided his fourth assist of the tournament when he set up fellow winger Nico Williams’ first goal in Berlin.

The youngster scored what was probably the most beautiful goal of the competition against France and was deservedly named Young Player of the Tournament.

Yamal is well on his way to becoming the next big star in world football and Barcelona has already given him Lionel Messi’s old shirt number.

And it’s hard to believe: Yamal’s sensational rise led to a record-breaking market value.

The popular website Transfer Markt has awarded 35 players for the Euro 2024 an increase in value in its latest update.

But once again it is Yamal who is making headlines. After a seven-goal season at Barca, he entered the tournament with prize money of 90 million euros.

But his value is now €120 million. This means that Yamal has received the biggest update and is the first player under the age of 19 to exceed the €100 million mark on the transfer market.

“Yamal was a household name for most football fans, but now the whole world knows him,” says Tobias Blaseio, transfer market value expert for Spain.

“Best young player of the tournament, best assist provider of the entire tournament. At 17 years old, he has already broken many records and made a decisive contribution to the European Championship title, especially in the semi-finals and finals.”

In October, Barcelona agreed a new contract with Yamal that ties him until 2026 and includes a release clause worth a whopping one billion euros.

However, according to recent developments at Sport, Yamal’s agent Jorge Mendes is lobbying to get him a hefty pay rise as part of a new contract.
