LIGONIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – When talking about the best golf holes in Western Pennsylvania, one cannot forget the 10th hole at Laurel Valley Golf Club, which is known for its difficult start on the back nine holes of the course.
The 10th hole is a dogleg right that can play up to 430 yards, with the middle tees being approximately 430 yards long.
On the 10th hole, the tee shot is crucial as bunkers are strategically placed on both sides of the fairway.

“Especially on the right side, if you miss the bunker on the right, you end up in a beautiful meandering stream. We want to avoid that at all costs,” said Head Golf Professional Chris McKnight.
Approach shots into the green complex may look tempting, but danger lurks in the water on the right side.
“I would prefer the left side with a nice little fade there,” McKnight said.
Putts on the green tend to run downhill toward the water, making birdies difficult to achieve, but McKnight managed a birdie while playing alongside KDKA’s Bob Pompeani.
