Six Barcelona stars who are indispensable for the club – report

After ending the 2023/24 season without a title, FC Barcelona has spent the last few weeks planning its squad to start the next season in top form and with a team that can compete for all possible titles.

To this end, sporting director Deco and new coach Hansi Flick have worked together and decided to listen to offers for almost all of their players, with very few of these players currently considered untouchable.

According to SPORT, there are only six players in this category and these players are considered an integral part of the team for next season and will continue to be the central figures of the team in the years to come. Only Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Pedri, Gavi, Fermin Lopez and Ter Stegen are part of this select group.

The German goalkeeper has been an undisputed starter and one of the team’s leaders for a decade. Given his age, he has the most authority in the dressing room and has become an important part of the team with his performances between the posts, especially in the last two seasons.

In defence, Pau Cubarsi had a fairytale last season, rising from the reserves to Xavi’s starting line-up and playing like a true veteran whenever he was on the pitch despite being just 17 years old and it being his first season in the top flight. He formed an impressive partnership with Araujo and is expected to be a key part of the team for years to come.

There are three irreplaceable players in midfield: Gavi, Pedri and Fermin Lopez are all considered part of the long-term project at Barcelona. Gavi is expected to be an important part of the team both on and off the pitch, despite his serious knee injury.

Likewise, Pedri is one of the most entertaining and creative players on the team and despite his injuries, Barcelona would not want to part with him under any circumstances. Xavi’s faith in Fermin Lopez also paid off last season as he made a huge contribution to the team and finished as the second top goalscorer.

Finally, Lamine Yamal, who was one of Spain’s best young players last season, breaking almost every possible youth record, will also be a pillar of the future Barcelona project. He has a very promising future ahead of him and the Catalans will not want to part with him at any price.
