Augusta woman charged with manslaughter at Dollar General

Richmond County authorities have charged an Augusta woman with beating to death a local father who was found outside a Dollar General on June 15.

Tamiko Shynese Bolton, 36, was charged Thursday with the murder of 28-year-old Elias Delk. The victim’s body was found in the early morning hours of June 15 outside the Dollar General on Martin Luther King Jr., authorities said.

Delk was beaten to death and suffered multiple blunt force injuries, the medical examiner said last month. The victim was identified online as the loving father of a five-year-old boy.

It is unclear if Bolton is the only suspect in the case, but she was arrested Thursday and being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.

Bolton has a long list of arrests in the area. In 2007, she was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to resell and possession of a firearm, but the firearm charge was dropped and prosecutors had her reduce the drug trafficking charge to disturbing the peace.

Other charges include shoplifting in 2009 and 2014, drunk driving in 2014, two arrests for trespassing in 2015 and a long list of traffic violations.
