Description:
This Ash of War grants a weapon the Occult Affinity and the following skill:
“Cry of Sorrow: A skill used by the oppressed. Cry that causes nearby enemies to flinch while evoking deep-seated resentment. Attack power is increased based on the amount of remaining HP. The lower the HP, the greater the effect.”
- Cost: 19 FP
- Grants one of the following affinities:

- Difficult
- Eager
- Quality
- Poison
- blood
- occult
- The buff lasts 40 seconds
Shriek of Sorrow is an Ash of War that was added in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Earth Treeand grants the equipped weapon the Occult Affinity. This Ash of War can be placed on any melee weapon.
This Ash of War will have your Tarnished shout and apply a buff to itself. The shout causes all nearby enemies to flinch and the buff increases your attack power based on the amount of HP you are missing.

Where to Find Ash of War: Shriek of Sorrow Location
To get Shriek of Sorrow Ash of War, Go to the small private altar of grace. How to get the Ashes of War:
- Go through the north exit and up the stairs.
- Turn right and continue straight until you reach the doors. There is a large tree in front of you.
- When you enter this area, the Fire Knight Queelign will ambush you. You can fight him or run to the back of the tree and get the Ashes of War.
