FX’s “Alien” series is officially titled “Alien: Earth”

FX’s highly anticipated extraterrestrial The series now has an official title: Alien: Earth. Network president John Landgraf and showrunner Noah Hawley announced the title during discussions about FX’s Emmy nominations and the future of the network’s programming.

“We just finished production, so I’m now on the long post that deals with visual effects,” Hawley said in an interview with diversity. He expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stressing the scope of the series and the importance of taking time to refine it. “It’s a very big show. It’s nice to spend some time on it,” he added, highlighting the creative process of shaping the series’ cinematic identity.

Landgraf shared his optimism for the new series in a broader discussion about FX’s Emmy-nominated shows. He mentioned that the network is already discussing future seasons of Alien: Earth“We are quite optimistic about Alien: Earth and we have told him that provided, as we hope, Alien: Earth is a recurring television series, we want him to focus on writing at least two seasons of it before returning for a possible sixth season Fargo,” he said.

Alien: Earth serves as a prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic extraterrestrialwhich launched an eight-film franchise. In addition to Hawley’s series, a new film entitled Alien: Romulus The release is planned for later this summer. Alien: Romulusset between extraterrestrial (1979) and Aliens (1986) is about young space colonizers who encounter an abandoned space station and the legendary alien threat.

The cast of the series includes Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis and David Rysdahl.
