“Love Island USA” star Kaylor’s mother criticizes new boyfriend Aaron

It’s no secret that Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans’ relationship has left viewers with mixed feelings. Love Island USA this season, but it seems that one person is particularly strong in their opinion.

In social media posts on July 3 and 5, Kaylor’s mother, Kara Kaylor-Stewart, shared her thoughts on her daughter’s relationship with Aaron. After fans watched Aaron, 26, seemingly cheat on Kaylor, 22, on the final day of Casa Amor and not be open about his actions, her mother had some kind words for him.

“My heart bleeds for you baby and I wish I could bear the pain/suffering you must be enduring,” she wrote. “Kaylor, you are a strong advocate for empowering your loved ones, faith and trust in each other and most of all… your loyalty to your friends and your dedication to doing whatever it takes to help them feel joy, experience peace and serenity… A God given asset you have been blessed with!”

She continued, “Honestly, I was initially shocked when you chose Aaron for a relationship… the lack of the physical features/appearances you would otherwise insist on or MUST HAVE before considering a date… And even more astonishing is his fragile emotional dysfunction, his tendency toward verbal outbursts, tantrums, utter disrespect, and constant crying fits reminiscent of a hormone-driven teenager… genuine concern… just as an aside!!”

She continued to encourage her daughter to learn from and appreciate her experiences with Aaron, but to be clear about what she deserves in the future.

During Aaron’s time in Casa Amor, he faced criticism from audiences for pursuing another woman, Daniela Ortiz-Rivera, and moving their relationship forward faster than expected. During the three-day experience, Aaron was filmed getting physical with 22-year-old Daniela, but also telling her briefly, “I already feel like I love you so much.”

Additionally, Aaron and Kaylor clashed over what was happening outside the villa during his relationship with Daniela – which Aaron did not reveal to the audience.

A few days after her initial post, Kara returned to social media to share more of her thoughts.

“My beautiful angel, I am so proud of you for staying grounded and knowing you deserve better!” the post began. “Kaylor, how I wish I could be there for you, hold you when you cry, kiss your forehead and reassure you that everything will be OK… in GOD’s time. Little girl… you will find your love, your best friend, a man who would ride or die for you… a man who is selfless – who only cares about your needs/wants/desires and forgets his own/himself. It’s not hard to find a faithful man. Unfortunately for you… the man I’m talking about is not AAron (he’s a boy).”

Kara praised Kaylor for standing up for herself and said she was proud of Kaylor for presenting herself “with class, authenticity and confidence.”

“Aaron wasn’t thinking about your feelings, only his own,” she concluded.

Although Kara was proud of her daughter for standing up to Aaron, it was short-lived as the romance between the two quickly rekindled. During one particularly emotional argument, Aaron told Kaylor in the heat of the moment, “I fucking love you. There you go, I said it,” which caught her off guard and prompted her to say that she loves him too.

The two have now made it official and are boyfriend and girlfriend, but audiences have begun to express concern about Aaron’s attitude toward the relationship.

What else Love Island Liv Walker, who represents the contestants’ opinions on Kaylor and Aaron’s relationship, spoke to PEOPLE earlier this month about her lack of approval of the couple.

“(Kaylor) is my life. I absolutely adore her,” Walker explained. “I’ve always said she’ll be my maid of honor or bridesmaid forever because she’s such a genuine soul and sees the best in everyone, no matter if they’ve been hurt. (Aaron) has treated her badly a lot, and it’s a difficult situation because I love Aaron so much, too. And he really cares about her, and he knows he’s messed up a lot.”

She continued, “Personally, I think if you get the chance to explain everything you’ve done, you should just say everything! I feel like it somehow made the situation worse that he didn’t say everything and said he forgot (what happened to Daniela Ortiz-Rivera in Casa Amor).”

She added that if she were Kaylor, she wouldn’t take Aaron back.
