Market value of Chinese medical devices reaches 179 billion US dollars, 90th CMEF in Shenzhen presents a wealth of technological products

SHENZHEN, China, July 17, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The 90th The China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) takes place in Shenzhen out of 12 to 15 October 2024. With an expected attendance of over 200,000 visitors from more than 150 countries, the exhibition is a global showcase for cutting-edge technology. Over 4,000 companies will exhibit their latest developments in the field of medical devices. The Chinese medical device market has experienced remarkable growth and has reached a market capitalization of 1.27 trillion yuan (179 billion US dollars) in 2023, as reported China Daily.

For over 40 years, CMEF has relentlessly pursued the goal of creating a global platform for international exchange, cross-border trade and diverse cooperation. In 10 exhibition halls, CMEF presents the latest products and technologies from across the industry. China in particular has made remarkable technological advances to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.

Portable medical devices contribute to the efficiency of first aid The World Economic Forum estimates that the climate crisis could lead to an alarming increase in deaths of 14.5 million by 2050. Increasing extreme weather events have raised public awareness of the importance of first aid. Chinese companies have developed more practical medical devices to help with on-site rescue operations. For example, a portable, emergency-specific digital radiography (DR) system weighs just 23 kilograms, has an internal power supply, and enables X-ray images and diagnoses.

Advances in robotic technology continue to improve medical accuracy

With the advancement of intelligent technologies, robotics has also penetrated the healthcare field. In China, an endoscopic surgical robot has already been successfully used in over 20 hospitals and has assisted in over 300 operations. This product features a high-resolution 3D image processing system, a flexible mechanical arm with multiple degrees of freedom and a groundbreaking handle design. The surgical robot has been clinically trained and tested in dozens of hospitals and has achieved a 100% success rate in over 60 remote surgeries.

Integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) improves the patient experience

IoT has the potential to significantly improve the efficiency of medical services and patient experience. An advanced medical imaging IT solution seamlessly connects multiple imaging modalities and medical facilities. A notable implementation of this solution is the collaboration between Shenzhen Baoan People’s Hospital and Zayu People’s Hospital on China’s southwest border. By overcoming a distance of 3,000 kilometers, residents of remote areas no longer need to travel for medical consultations and gain access to world-class care.

This year, CMEF launched the WeTalk Global Stage to boost global business. An after-event organized by the Consulate General of Italy about the Italian medical ecosystem attracted nearly a hundred participants. The initiative will be presented at the 90thth CMEF.

The Chinese market has become one of the most promising global medical device industries. As a gateway for companies entering the Chinese market, CMEF focuses on technology and trade exchanges, further accelerating the development of the industry.
