Many are wondering what kind of Scottie Scheffler they will see in Scotland this weekend. The reigning Masters champion has struggled in the last two majors, dropping out of both the PGA Championship and the US Open. That doesn’t make things any better, because he struggled in the Open, finishing outside the top 20 in each of his last two appearances.

That could open a door for Rory McIlroy. He finished a solid fourth at the Scottish Open last weekend, his first competition since losing at the US Open last month. The Northern Irishman won that Grand Slam tournament, and it was his last major victory of 2014.

Other players to watch are Xander Schauffele and Ludvig Aberg, two players looking to put their Grand Slam woes behind them. Brian Harman, the man who surprised everyone last season by winning the Open by six shots, is looking to pull off another upset and become the first man to win the tournament in two consecutive years since Paddy Harrington accomplished the feat in 2007 and 2008.
