An alternate version of Peter Parker, the superhero is a darker version of the character living in New York during the Great Depression. He is portrayed as a tough detective and legend has it that while investigating a smuggling ring, he is bitten by a poisonous spider in a spider idol. A hardened vigilante, he wages a lone war against the city’s crime bosses to avenge the death of his uncle Ben Parker.

According to an analysis by Daniel Richtman (via Murphy’s Multiverse), The Ghost driver Star is set to portray an ageing private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to balance his personal and professional life with all the challenges that come with it. According to Richtman’s report, Cage could possibly play Ben Reilly, known in the comics as Scarlet Spider and considered a clone of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man.

However, this remains speculation for now until Marvel and Amazon officially confirm the details. Until then, fans will be eagerly imagining the exciting possibilities Cage could bring to the table with this character.

After announcing that Nicolas Cage will take on the role of Spider-Man Noir in a live-action series, the creators have now given the audience the next piece of information about the cast. Irish actor Brendan Gleeson, who played all of the critically acclaimed The Banshees of Inisherinwas persuaded to share screen space with Cage on the show (via diversity).

Although there is no official announcement yet about who Gleeson will portray in the series, well-known film insider Daniel Richtman reports on the plot (via Murphy’s Multiverse), which follows Noir’s confrontation with fearsome crime boss Silvermane, may suggest that the Irish star could potentially play this scary villain.

Although Silvermane does not play a prominent role in any live-action version, the villain was a central figure in the 1994 Spider-Man: The Animated Series, in which he appeared in 6 episodes. He is portrayed as a ruthless and corrupt street gangster whose obsession with power makes him a more accessible enemy and fearsome antagonist.

In addition to speculation that Gleeson could take on this role, there is also the possibility that he could play Norman Osborn. Either way, the Oscar nominee’s casting in the series seems to be a great choice. Now it remains to be seen what Marvel role he will be playing.
