The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Showrunner Patrick McKay hints that Tom Bombadil will remain very faithful to JRR Tolkien’s original in Season 2. The Prime Video series, which will be released in 2022 Lord of the Rings The series, based on Tolkien’s appendices, follows Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) thousands of years before Frodo’s quest for the One Ring. One of the moments I love most about this season is when the stranger asks, ‘Who are you?’ And Bombadil just says, ‘The Elder.’ He’s crazy and sings songs, but when he says that, you feel like, ‘Oh, he’s been here for thousands of years.'”

Although he does not make it into Peter Jackson’s successful film adaptation, Bombadil plays a small but notable role in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the RingBefore Frodo and his companions reach the Prancing Pony Inn where they meet Aragorn, the hobbits run into trouble in the Old Forest. Bombadil comes to rescue the hobbits and frees them from the clutches of the old wicker man. He later saves them again when they encounter a burrowing toad.

For the second season of “The Rings of Power” an important character was confirmed who remained a mystery even to JRR Tolkien himself: Tom Bombadil.

In view of The Rings of Power Bomabadil takes his Middle Earth story quite seriously and is a somewhat surprising addition to Season 2. The character speaks mainly in rhymes and singsong and is something of an outsider compared to other Lord of the rings Characters. Bombadil may be carefree and eccentric, but he is also clearly very powerful.
