Michigan man wins record-breaking Fantasy 5 jackpot of $963,040

“I play Fantasy 5 every day,” the player said. “The day after the drawing, I was at work and heard that a big Fantasy 5 jackpot had been won, so I went to MichiganLottery.com to see where it was being sold. When I saw that the winning ticket was purchased at the store I usually play at, I called my wife and said, ‘My store sold a big winner!’ She asked if it was me, but I didn’t have my ticket with me to check.”

Only later that evening did he learn that his ticket with numbers 04-05-08-22-38 won the record prize of $963,040.

“That night my wife and I looked at the ticket together and that’s when I found out I was the big winner! I didn’t know what to feel at first because I couldn’t believe it was true. Now that I finally understand it, it feels great,” he said.

The big winner said he plans to buy a new car, a new house and a cabin.
