Primetime Emmy Awards nominations announced, including historic nomination for Netflix series

The nominations for the Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced. They include a historic nomination for Sofia Vergara, while the dominant winner of the last ceremony, The bearis also back with a number of new nominations.




The nominees were announced on Wednesday by Tony Hale (Veep) and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary School). While The bear returns with a strong presence for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, popular new shows like Shogun, Stand outAnd Baby reindeer will compete for some top awards this time. There is also recognition for other ongoing popular shows such as Only murders in the building, What we do in the shadowsAnd The crown. For her nomination for the Netflix series Griselda, Sofia Vergara is the first Latina to be nominated in the category “Lead Actress in a Miniseries”.

Voting on the nominations ended on June 24. While the last ceremony took place in January, it was postponed to 2023 due to the strikes, which is apparently why the next Emmy Awards will be held so soon. The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from the LA Live Peacock Theater on ABC on Sunday, September 15. The show will be available to stream on Hulu the next day. As of now, no host has been named for the ceremony. The list of nominees is below.
