Kevin Bacon has tried to remain anonymous, but prefers to be famous.

Kevin Bacon of Phoenixville tried to walk through a Los Angeles mall disguised as a normal person, and the famous actor ended up hating every second of it, writes Elizabeth Wellington for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“People were kind of pushing past me and not being nice,” he said. “Nobody said ‘I love you.’ I had to stand in line to, I don’t know, buy a … coffee or whatever. I was like, ‘This sucks. I want to be famous again.'”

This month, Bacon stars in MaXXXinethe third part of a popular horror film series, and in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F on Netflix.

It may sound silly that the actor finds standing in line for coffee annoying, but the bottom line is that he’s famous. He’s been famous for most of his life, thanks in large part to his father, Edmund Bacon, who was one of Philadelphia’s foremost urban planners and responsible for the development of the Society Hill neighborhood.

“I saw (Edmund) being recognized by people as he walked down the street, and seeing that was definitely a big driving force in my life,” Bacon said.
