Was Yahya Sinwar’s brother killed in the attack on Mohammad Deif?

Israel is examining preliminary information that a member of Yahya Sinwar’s family was also killed in the assassination of Mohammad Deif. In fact, the possibility that this was one of Sinwar’s brothers is being investigated.

Moreover, the Israeli army is already convinced that several of Deif’s bodyguards were killed in the attack. If his bodyguards were there, they assume that he was probably there too.

On Tuesday, Israeli spokesman R. Adm. Daniel Hagari told Saudi Arabia’s state-run Al Arabiya channel: “Rafa Salama was killed. I confirm that to you. He and Deif were together. Hamas is hiding Deif’s fate. I’ll tell you something else: two weeks ago we attacked other Hamas leaders in Gaza City, and Hamas is hiding what happened to them.”

“We will pursue everyone who took part in October 7. Just as we did in Khan Yunis against Salama and Deif, we will do so against whoever is responsible for October 7. If they want to end the suffering they are inflicting on the people of Gaza, they must release the hostages.”

Last week, the Israeli army attacked the head of the Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. While Deif’s death was not confirmed, it was later confirmed that Rafa Salama, the commander of Hamas’ Khan Yunis Brigade, who was with Deif at the time of the attack, had been killed.
