Taylor Swift paid a special visit to the filming location of “Banshees of Inisherin” during her stay in Ireland – MOViN 92.5

Have you seen the Oscar-nominated film? The Banshees of Inisherin and dream of visiting the Irish island where it happened? Taylor Swift – so she made it possible.

The Connaught Telegraph reports that Taylor arranged a private visit, Achill Island in County Mayo. Many of the film’s locations were shot there, including the pub where the characters hang out and the house of Brendan Gleeson‘s character.

In 2022, Taylor told Banshees director Martin McDonagh She wished the pub in the film was a real place and not a set that was built and then demolished. She said she was “happy with the production design and the technical feat and imagination that it was, but I wanted to go there.”

During the low-key visit, she visited the parts of the island featured in the film. A local who met her told the newspaper: “She was driven around and didn’t want to make a fuss. She took time out from her hectic schedule to see if Achilles really is as stunning as it is portrayed (in the film).”

“She said how nice it was to live here,” the local added. “She seemed like a really warm and lovely person. It was a pleasure to meet her.”

Taylor has visited Ireland several times over the years and in particular sings about a pebble she picked up in County Wicklow in her song “Sweet Nothing”.
