Love Island’s Uma reacts to ‘confusion’ over moment of quitting

Love Island‘s Uma has spoken about the “confusion” that followed her decision to leave the show.

In an exclusive chat with Digital SpyThe former 2024 Islander spoke about the moment she decided to leave with Wil to continue their romance on the outside.

This moment by the open fire occurred after the events at Casa Amor, when the couple had been through some difficult days.

Uma described the reaction from fans since her exit from the show as “unreal” and added: “I am so happy with the kind words everyone is saying about me.”

However, she went on to explain, “I know there was some confusion because of the whole situation as to why I left with Wil, but I hope that when people look at everything we did after that (after I left the show), they understand a little bit better why that was the case.”

Wil then interjected that “there was just confusion” among viewers “because of the way it was shown on screen.” Uma agreed, explaining that no one who was in the villa with them was shocked by their decision.

“Everyone thought we would win there,” Wil added.

After her dramatic and emotional departure from Love IslandUma and Wil are successful.

The couple also announced that they are now a couple, with Uma sharing Wil’s romantic way of asking on her Instagram stories.

After an evening together, Uma unveiled a candle and flower display that Wil had prepared as a surprise.

“Guys, I just got back to the hotel room and saw this,” she wrote in her now-expired story. Wil, who shared her post, told his followers: “Your boy has a girlfriend now.”

Uma had previously made it clear to her fans in her first Instagram post since leaving the ITV2 show that she and Wil were doing well after returning to the UK.

She shared some snaps from her “first of many date nights” and added in the caption: “So happy to be out and about with my blueberry…”

Uma also thanked everyone for their “support and lovely messages” and ended the post with the words: “Lots of love to absolutely everyone.”

Love Island will be broadcast on ITV2 and streamed on ITVX.
