Caracol TV’s “Love of My Life” is Colombia’s most successful series to date in 2024

During its broadcast, the station achieved a market share of 41.4 percent. It led in the country’s six top regions and thus consolidated its dominant position in the program offering.

The love of my lifeCaracol’s new production, which has become the most successful series of the year so far, concluded its outstanding performance in prime time last night, achieving a market share of 42.5 and an audience rating of 9.5, beating its direct competitors.

During its broadcast, the show achieved a market share of 41.4 percent, leading the country’s six top regions and consolidating its dominance in the programming, especially among female audiences and those over 40, where it had a huge lead, reaching peak ratings of 50 percent. In addition, it beat the three direct competitors of Colombian rivals Caracol.

Lisette Osorio, Vice President of International Business at Caracol Television, stressed: “The love of my life is a bold bet on reviving a classic drama, with a story that spans three generations and uses incredible locations and scenic views as a backdrop. We are delighted that the film has resonated with audiences who demand the power and relevance of love stories with happy endings. We know that the film will continue to break records in the international market.”

The love of my life, with producer Asier Aguilar at the helm, was directed by Mónica Botero and Johnny Hendrix Hinestroza in the first phase and by Luis Alberto Restrepo and Carlos Mario Urrea in the second phase. Shot entirely outdoors, the series takes advantage of the country’s stunning landscapes and locations to recreate the universe of 19th-century cotton plantations, staying true to costume transitions that reflect each era (the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s) in which the story is set.

The cast of The love of my life is led by top stars such as María José Camacho, Paula Castaño, Ricardo Mejía, Sergio Herrera, Jair Romero, Maía Landaburu, Jairo Camargo, Luis Gerónimo Abreu, Modesto Lacén and Jefferson Quiñones, to name a few.

The series will captivate audiences worldwide with a thrilling story of forbidden love in a melodramatic package. It also addresses the class struggle in the cotton mills, between power, betrayal and revenge.
