Macomb County man wins record jackpot of 3,000

A Macomb County man made history after winning the largest Fantasy 5 prize since the game began in 2004 – a jackpot of $963,040!

The 56-year-old player, who wished to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the June 26 drawing to win the top prize: 04-05-08-22-38. He purchased his winning ticket at Smoker’s Express, 51124 DW Seaton Drive in New Baltimore.

“I play Fantasy 5 every day,” said the player. “The day after the draw, I was at work and heard that a big Fantasy 5 jackpot had been won, so I went MichiganLottery.com to see where it was sold. When I saw that the winning ticket was purchased at the store I usually play at, I called my wife and said, “My store sold a big winner!” She asked if it was me, but I didn’t have my ticket with me to check.

“That night my wife and I looked at the ticket together and that’s when I found out I was the big winner! I didn’t know what to feel at first because I couldn’t believe it was true. Now that I finally understand it, it feels great!”

The player recently visited the lottery headquarters to claim his big win. He plans to use his winnings to buy a new car, a new house and a vacation home.

The previous Fantasy 5 record was a jackpot of $924,880 won on January 17, 2020 with a single ticket purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.
