In February, the singer released a video on his Instagram with a Starbucks cup in his hand, which he repeatedly showed on camera. Since Starbucks is considered a target of an organic boycott in circles of the pro-Palestinian movement, a fan reached out to Rad Museum via Instagram and asked him not to post about Starbucks and McDonald’s, and provided some background on why he was asked to do so.

Hyung (Bro), I love you and have a lot of respect for you as an artist. But please don’t post (things like that) because Starbucks and McDonald’s support genocide. It’s better not to post about those brands, so I hope you understand that.

The singer is said to have blocked the fan and subsequently uploaded stories in which he attacked the fans for “forcing” their opinions on him.

The incident sparked a massive backlash from international internet users and four months later, the singer apologized for his behavior. He posted a detailed apology on Instagram and asked people not to criticize other artists associated with him for his own behavior.

My Starbucks post earlier this year hurt a lot of people due to my inappropriate behavior as an artist, and for that I sincerely apologize.
I have found that my concern has resulted in negative feedback about the activities of fellow artists associated with me, and I deeply regret this. My fellow artists have no connection with my activities in any way, and I sincerely hope that such incidents will not be repeated.

He also made it clear that his post had no political implications.”At that time I did not know the facts of the war,” The singer wrote and added: “I did not know the facts of the war. When I learned about the ongoing war, I expressed my condolences and sadness in a post on my story. The ongoing war still makes me deeply sad.”

Furthermore, the whole story about my problem that has been posted in various communities is very different from the truth. The Starbucks coffee in the story was not a product that I purchased or consumed, but simply a coffee that was available at the scene of the accident.

Finally, Rad Museum concluded his apology by adding that he had reacted to the criticism “thoughtlessly” because he had received many “malicious messages from people all over the world”.

After the problematic story was published, I received thousands of vicious messages from people all over the world, including blood-soaked photos and indiscriminate insults to my family, which were extremely difficult for me to bear psychologically.
I deeply apologize for my thoughtless reaction, which was driven by emotion rather than reason, and for not truly listening to the voices of those who feel the horrors of war. I sincerely hope that all people in the world can experience peace instead of war as soon as possible.
I will be more cautious in all matters in the future. I once again sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by my post, and I will take this incident as a lesson to strive to become a more mature artist.

However, the singer’s apology was met with a muted response from his fans. They felt it came too late or was not sincere enough.
